Kia ora – ʔaʔǰačxʷʊt

My research focuses on the syntax and semantics of indigenous languages; currently most specifically in Māori – a Polynesian languages spoken by the indigenous minority in New Zealand – and ʔayʔaǰuθəm – a Salish language spoken on the west coast of Canada. My primary interest in this area is addressing issues around translatability and mismatched lexical denotations from a generative and computational standpoint.
