The Department of Linguistics warmly congratulates Starr Sandoval, who successfully defended her PhD dissertation on August 14, 2026.
Her dissertation is titled:
“The Semantics of Adjective Dimensions: Quality adjectives as a window onto subsectivity, kinds, as phrases, and how questions”
Dr. Sandoval’s research was supervised by Marcin Morzycki, with committee members Ryan Bochnak and Hotze Rullmann. Special thanks also go to Lisa Matthewson for her support and involvement during the defence.
