Computational linguistics grad students present capstone projects



Students in the Masters of Data Science in Computational Linguistics program presented their capstone projects on June 25. Each group wrote a blog post describing their research:

  • Cancer Rehab (motivational chatbots to encourage recovery during Cancer rehabilitation)
  • CGI (workload and expertise-informed personnel management)
  • Ednoda (discovery of language-learning examples that match learner expertise)
  • Jeppesen (knowledge distillation from myriad sources into easy-to-read, accurate summaries)
  • SUEDE (educational assistant for age-appropriate, expert-vetted sexual health education)
  • UBC Psych (fast, accurate AI for texting and mental health)
