Congratulations, Dr. Heather Bliss!

Recent PhD graduate Heather Bliss has been making headlines in November. She was honoured in Ottawa for being a finalist for the SSHRC Talent Awards and is featured in the UBC news for her work on saving endangered languages. Congratulations to Heather and to her supervisor, Dr. Martina Wiltschko!

BBC “On Language Location” Radio Series

UBC’s new director of the FNLG program, Mark Turin, will be hosting a two-part BBC Radio 4 series, “On Language Location,” starting next week. The episodes cover the languages of Bhutan (Monday 20 October) and Burma/Myanmar (Monday 27 October).The podcasts will be available online after they are broadcast through the series website:http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b04lpsbz
