UBC electronically hosts Northwest Linguistics Conference

UBC linguistics is hosting (virtually) the 37th annual Northwest Linguistics Conference this weekend, from May 14–16, 2021! Plenary speakers include Dr. Miikka Silfverberg, Dr. Neda Todorović, and Samuel Akinbo.

The Northwest Linguistics Conference is a student-focused linguistics conference held between UBC, SFU, UVic, and UW on a rotating basis. It is a general linguistics conference, meaning that talks and posters cover all subdisciplines in the field. This year, we have a wide variety of presenters both from the local hosting universities and abroad.

Registration for the conference is free and available on the conference website, and is necessary to receive the links to join the virtual sessions. Registration, programming, and other conference information is available here.
