We are proud to announce that Dr. Jennifer Glougie, a UBC Linguistics alumnus, has been reappointed as chair of the BC Labour Relations Board and the Employment Standards Tribunal. Her new five-year term will begin on February 5, 2025, following a merit-based recruitment process by Niki Sharma, Attorney General.
Dr. Glougie has served as chair of both tribunals since February 2022. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from UBC and a law degree from the University of Victoria. An accomplished legal and linguistic professional, Dr. Glougie is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia, the Canadian Bar Association, and several linguistics associations.
Previously, Dr. Glougie served as associate chair of the Labour Relations Board and contributed to labour education across British Columbia. The tribunals she leads ensure fair and efficient resolution of workplace disputes under the Labour Relations Code and the Employment Standards Act.
We congratulate Dr. Glougie on this well-deserved reappointment and celebrate her continued impact in the field.
